When our broadband was snap, it was fabulous, the service was exceptional and we had no complaints at all. When it changed to 2 degrees, we have had regular drop outs, very slow speed, poor service as it takes forever to get an answer.
Pros
Price: They have continued our bundled landline, broadband price.
Cons
Poor service, slow speed, lately, increased drop outs.

I was with Actrix. Voyager is somehow involved. I was offered the opportunity to upgrade to VDSL both by email and by direct phone contact. The offer to change to VDSL promised:
Free upgrade
Free upgrade to VDSL
Includes modem rental
Includes upgrade to unlimited data (no more worries about your monthly data cap)

It won't cost any more than your current monthly plan which was around $95 on 5/9/17 for the period 5/9/17-5/10/17

Before the change I had an Internet/ Phone bundle with Actrix. After the change I had VDSL and VoIP
Its easy to set up and we'll help you.

Cons
The change over was messy:
My order was acknowledged 15 August
The router arrived and I tried to set it up.
I received a message 23 August stating Your service should be active now:
To get online, simply plug in the pre-configured Voyager router, connect your computer, and wait a few minutes

It wasn't easy to connect and it was very difficult to get help - so either many many others also had difficulty, or there were too few help desk staff or both
I waited for up to 2 hours for someone on the help desk to pick up

They responded to my email requests for help with a standard reply

on 23 August I emailed: I've already phoned twice and been put into a queue
I have booked geeks on wheels to get my communications up and running and I will send you that invoice.
At home I have
No phone
No internet
Cannot access any documents
Cannot open existing emails

I was advised by the sales pitch that it would be a simple matter. Since the wait time to talk to someone is quite long, you are either overwhelmed with problems or you have too few people on the help desk. I don't have the time to muck around with this

They tried to ring me on my home line - which was not functioning
They tried to ring me on my cell phone, but i was with clients and could not answer

Once I had given them remote access, the help desk did not log out and they did not advise when a fix had been made
My land line did not work for 5 days
My landline which had been been previously set up hide my number for security reasons, showed my number. It proved difficult to have this resolved

An invoice arrived 6-10-17 for a total of $172.16
Charges for October itemised: $8.69 router rental, $68.70 VDSL and $8.69 for VoIP
Charges for November itemised: Processing fee to transfer phone number: $13, Router rental $6.95, Shipping and Handling $13.00, Set up charges VDSL $42.61, VDSL unlimited $54.96, VoIP $6.95

It was a nightmare

works great when its working but if you have a problem in the weekend they are useless. Customer support are very testing being past form accounts to technical then never calling back. Customer support was the main reason I left. other than that I guess they are just as good as everyone else. I did get a $10 discount by having my mobile with them, but really they are $10 more expensive. At the time I think it was good but with current pricing they are not competitive.
Pros
I did get a $10 discount by having my mobile with them, but really they are $10 more expensive. Until they lower their prices its not a good deal, it was when I signed up.
Cons

Lack of Customer support was the main reason I left. Over the 3 years it seems to have gotten slower also. ...read more

These are very subjective! Vary depending on thinking at the time.
Pros
Other than extreme events eg Christchurch Earthquake and extreme weather at the repeater station our wireless broadband has been VERY reliable - amazing for our rural location. And we've had this for 10 years now.
Support from the Christchurch office has been great every time we've needed it. ...read more
Cons
We've experienced those even faster speeds available in the city and can't wait to avail ourselves of this back in our rural home...

We're on Wireless broadband currently, and have been since 29/9/07, with SCORCH on a Fullspeed/768 Kbps/15 GB including loyalty upgrade plan. At this stage we are wondering about upgrading but are very grateful to scorch for the opportunity to have been on broadband through their system to date. At a rural address where we are we count ourselves very fortunate to have been able to access 'broadband' and VOIP phone for the last 10 years.
Pros
It enabled us to shut down our copper wire service and use VOIP phone in addition to enjoying 'broadband' speeds on computer in our rural location.
Excellent support from Christchurch base with good problem solving when needed.
Cons
We haven't speeded up with the new decade... yet.

Appalling customer service. Takes then a week to reply to an email even if you reply 5 minutes after they have sent you one. Also takes an hour over the phone to be put through with someone that knows nothing at all about broadband...

looking at moving from vdsl to fibre

The most disappointing feature is the slow download speed on a fibre connection - approx 3-4Mbps when it's advertised as 100-200Mbps. Nowhere close. I have neighbours on other providers who get much closer to this speed. The modem, Fritzbox, is excellent and it's nice to have a monthly discount on my mobile - but that makes it harder to switch, too.
Pros
Reliable connection
Good modem
Cons
Poor speed on fibre

VoIP phone good. Better than spark copper wire as no electric fence clicks. Broadband speed not the fastest and often can't stream Netflix. Had trouble at first when technician had the outside box(?) pointing to the wrong tower.
Pros
Good support most of the time.
Cons
Expensive. We are paying$137most months for broadband and phone.
