Have been with them for nearly 10 years and have had endless problems relating to uptime, ping, speed, dns, and more. Speeds are ok when maxed out, but for years we were stuck only getting less than 1/4th of the plans minimum speed we were paying for. Tech support is next to useless and even lied on occasion and had to apologize when I confronted them with irrefutable proof. They try to offload blame for every issue that comes up until I jump through countless hoops and even then most of the time they just say they don't know what the problem is and essentially I'm just unlucky. I have replaced every bit of networking gear multiple times to ensure it's not a problem with any of that and yet the problems persist, sometimes they manage to fix problems, but only after weeks of back and forward. It's completely unacceptable behavior, but they know they can get away with it as they are the only option for most of their customers, including me. Constant reliability issues and downtime on a regular basis
Speeds almost never meet the plans minimum
Ping is very high, don't expect to do any online gaming
Poor support which takes an aggressive tone and offloads blame

After being a Spark Customer for nearly 30 years now, I was very disappointed when I was billed for my landline calls recently for no apparent reason and an extra charge of $5.00 was on top of that. After my query I was told that the free national landline calls were "a promotional add on" that I received at the beginning of my new contract which has now run out and the $5 was added for increased copper line maintenance cost. Fibre isn't available in my area yet. Although I knew about far more competetive deals offered by other providers I stayed loyal with Spark but am now seriously looking at other options because they seem to be very inflexible with their plans and unwilling to value me as a customer. ...read more

slingshot response but the customer service was very inexperience and requested me to talk with their technical team. I think their competitors will help me.

My old plan is the cheapest in the land

No free upgrade to latest speed/cap - need to pay 40% more to upgrade, which is a lot given I've been a long time customer.

Now a happy new MyRepublic customer
Transferring across from Spark to MyRepublic for their Fast Fibre & phone line was extremely easy to organise and they were knowledgeable, personable, prompt and efficient . (Top Marks)
MyRepublic had an awesomely priced 12mth special joining offer that was just to good to ignore...
Don't put up with those Spark muppets 1 minute longer... Nike principle... Just do it.

Their reliability totally sucks... lost broadband & phone connection for 2-days at a time 5 times in the last 2-years!!!
Their VDSL speed performance is pitiful and erratic... 26Mbps up... 2.5Mbps down
Overpriced... despite their standard price having decreased by 50%... I was still being billed the original 50% higher price 3 years later
Just transferred my personal business and all 3 of my nationwide businesses custom away from Spark... today
Just a new business mobile provider left to source
Spark seriously sucks... I wouldn't now give them the steam off my excrement... Worst of the worst!!!

The fibre package was frequently only capable of streaming at SD or lower quality. Few reliability issues though.
